Clint Q. Smith

Clint Q. Smith Elementary School opened in 1972, with additions completed in 1974 and 1980. The campus underwent major renovations in 2004. The school was named in honor of Clint Quinton Smith (1893–1967), a lifelong Duncanville resident who served on the Duncanville ISD Board of Trustees for 9 years, including a term as Board President. Smith grew up on land once owned by the Carr family in an area that is now the Fairmeadows subdivision. Later, the barn from that farm was moved to Big Stone Gap and became part of Mr. Smith's farm. He had 4 sons who all served on the Duncanville ISD Board of Trustees. Additionally, one of his grandsons and grandson-in-law also served on the board. The land for Smith Elementary School was donated to the District by Clint Q. Smith. The campus currently serves as our Early Learning Academy for our youngest panthers in PreK-3.
